When reporting a problem, it helps to include:
You can also send feedback directly from the app:
Settings → About → Feedback
Feedback sent this way automatically attaches the app version, which speeds things up.
Some ads still show up on a page. What can I do? Cove’s filtering engine covers most banners, pop-ups, floating bars, redirects, and trackers, but no filter catches everything. First try Settings → Ad Filter → Update Ad Rules to fetch the latest rule set. For a stubborn element, tap the shield icon in the address bar and use Hide Distracting Item to remove it manually. If a site keeps showing ads, send us the page URL via Settings → About → Feedback so we can improve the rules.
A page looks broken or a button does not respond after filtering. Occasionally a filter rule removes an element the page needs. Open Settings → Ad Filter → Filter Rules, turn off the matching rule (Banner / Pop-up / Floating / Redirect Blocking), and refresh the page. You can also add the site to Site Whitelist to disable filtering on that site only.
How do I enable the Safari content blocker? Open Settings → Ad Filter → Safari Content Blocking and tap Enable; this takes you to iOS Settings where you can turn on the Cove extension. Rules are shared with Safari once enabled.
How do I lock the app? Open Settings → Privacy & Security → Set Passcode. After a passcode is set, you can turn on Face ID Unlock for quicker access. Authentication is required whenever you return to the app from the background.
What happens to my content when I switch apps? When Cove moves to the background, its content is covered so it does not appear in the app switcher.
Where is my browsing data stored? Browsing data stays on your device and is never uploaded. You can clear history anytime from the Browsing History page (tap Clear).
Where can I find files I saved? Open the Files tab. Saved items are sorted automatically into videos, images, and documents.
Can I bring in files from other apps? Yes. Use the iOS share sheet from any app and choose Cove to import the file into your library.
Why can’t I save resources on some websites? To respect copyright, Cove maintains a domain blocklist covering major content platforms. Saving is not available on those pages. See our Terms of Use for details.
Why is saving slower on the free tier? The free tier processes one task at a time. Cove Pro enables simultaneous tasks and higher per-task throughput.
Which formats can the player handle? The built-in player supports common video and audio formats, including MP4, MOV, and M4V. TS files are converted to MP4 automatically so they play smoothly.
What does “format conversion” do? Cove Pro can re-encode a file to HEVC (H.265) to reduce its size, or to a compatibility profile so it plays on older devices.
How do I use the enhanced player? Turn it on in Settings → Playback Settings → Enhanced Player. It adds swipe gestures for brightness, volume, and seeking, long-press for playback speed, remembered playback position, and volume normalization across videos. The enhanced player is part of Cove Pro.
How do I restore my Pro purchase on a new device? Open the app → Settings → Cove Pro → Restore Purchases. Make sure you are signed in with the same Apple ID used for the original purchase.
How do I cancel a subscription? Open iOS Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions → Cove Pro → Cancel Subscription. Your Pro features remain active until the end of the current billing period.
Will I be charged automatically? Yes. Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel anytime in your App Store account settings.
